barbrastreisandLoved seeing this video of @berkleecollege students doing “What the World Needs Now” as a virtual orchestra. They’re creating connection in a time of social distancing. Bravo!
barbrastreisandI recorded this song before this virus struck…and sang it last summer in Hyde Park. I thought it was kind of timely to share...as the world, especially now, is coming together with love. Even though people have to stay apart physically, we are connecting emotionally. That’s wonderful! 💛
barbrastreisandAs a teenager I used to make corn pancakes with Aunt Jemima’s pancake flour...this time I tried to use a healthier flour, but it didn’t taste as good. 🥞 P.S. my husband liked them! And P.P.S. cooking is good to do now!
barbrastreisandLoved seeing this video. Music is so powerful. It binds us together. It lifts us. We live in chaotic times and music can always comfort us. 💛

In these challenging times for family, friends, colleagues and the world at large, I light this candle as a prayer for everyone’s wellbeing.
With love,
Barbra
barbrastreisandJim and I stayed up for four hours last night watching the amazing Hillary documentary! So well done. She is charming and real and honest and intelligent and articulate...and every good thing a president should be!

barbrastreisandGender inequalities in medicine still persist in 2020 and this is why I will keep on fighting for #HeartEquity even beyond #HeartMonth. Did you know women are at a greater risk of dying within a year of a heart attack than men? Join me and pledge to #getHeartChecked! @WHA
barbrastreisandIt’s #HeartMonth and I’m fighting alongside Women's Heart Alliance to urge you and the women in your life to #getheartchecked. In the U.S., 1 in 4 women’s deaths are caused by heart disease. Don’t be another statistic. Learn the unique symptoms. https://www.womensheartalliance.org/2019/06/unique-symptoms-of-womens-heart-attack/
barbrastreisandThis #ValentinesDay show how much you love the women in your life by telling them to #GetHeartChecked! @WHA

barbrastreisandFor most of my life, heart disease has been perceived as a men’s disease & I fear that younger generations will think the same thing. 80% of millennials didn't know heart disease is the leading cause of death in women. This #HeartMonth, learn the facts.
barbrastreisandLike many, I’ve had loved ones affected by heart disease. #HeartMonth starts tomorrow, but heart attacks in women deserve attention year round. Especially if nearly half of women who experience heart attacks don’t have the classic symptoms. Learn the unique symptoms and #getHeartChecked.@WHA
barbrastreisandI knew my first dog Sadie was special the moment I laid eyes on her. This was the moment we met...she was a gift from the Broadway cast of Funny Girl on my 22nd birthday. I’ve been a dog lover ever since 💛🐾
barbrastreisandWhen it comes to heart attacks, I think about the mothers, wives and sisters that have lost their lives because of the lack of research and funding. Heart attacks won’t wait until #HeartMonth. Join me to #getHeartChecked today! @WHA
barbrastreisand1 in 3 women die of heart disease and stroke. These staggering numbers have made heart disease a personal passion of mine. Join me and pledge to #getHeartChecked ahead of Heart Month this February! @WHA

barbrastreisandJust finished my new director’s commentary for The Prince of Tides! Looking forward to its release...coming in March.

barbrastreisandIt was so much fun to work with you on The Owl and the Pussycat and What’s Up, Doc? I remember that you delivered the Pussycat script in three weeks. Bravo. May you rest in peace Buck. #BuckHenry
barbrastreisandLast night I was working on my book and had the news on in the background (which started driving me nuts)...so I changed the channel and heard Katie Kadan on The Voice singing the hit song “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”. Fun fact...this song was inspired by an interview I did with Jim on 20/20 when we first met! In the interview, I told Barbara Walters that Jim said to me one night as we were falling asleep, “I don’t want to fall asleep, ‘cause I’ll miss you”. Songwriter Diane Warren was watching that night and wrote a song around that line - Aerosmith took it to #1!
barbrastreisandI’ve always thought @ralphlauren was a genius, but after seeing the Very Ralph documentary on @HBO, I think he’s beyond genius…one great look after another, (the antique clothes I loved since I was a teenager with a modern twist)...all from his superb eye and attention to every little detail.
I’m amazed and inspired by my dear and generous friend’s artistry...love and thank you...Barbra
From one New York kid to another...congrats!! 💛
