thehappilyevaIsolation Squad! Going from 2-3 kids right at the start of a global pandemic was never something I envisioned, and it's been so stressful, sad, and overwhelming in a lot of ways. And yet I know there are women just like me all. over. the. country going through the same thing. Even though I know in theory I'm not "alone", isolation sure can make you feel alone in your motherhood journey. Thankfully, I found the @peanut app that allows you to connect, learn, and share advice with other mamas! Just last week I was finding it impossible to juggle homeschool schedules and a newborn seamlessly. I felt like I wasn’t doing enough, or not doing it right… or I’ll be honest, fighting with my kids about it. I’d been so back and forth on what was right, so I decided to ask other mamas out there on @peanut which was so helpful! It’s such a cool app because I can join chats, start chats, post questions, and share advice of my own on soooo many different topics. I can even connect one-on-one with other moms of three kids, moms of newborns, or moms in my community. Lots of rain outside, fire burning inside, movies galore, a bit too much iPad, and hot cocoa☺️This week I’ve been feeling really emotional about quarantine life, about the state of our nation, and the unknown of life “after” all of this. My kids have been extra anxious lately too, and it’s so hard to know how to handle it or what to do since the circumstances are so unique and anxiety seems really normal right now, since their lives are completely different and really confusing (with no end to it all on sight). I’ve just been loving on them and reminding myself this too shall pass. 😓 I’m used to coping with my own anxiety but I’m wondering if anyone has tips to help with anxiety manifesting itself in little kids.
