isabellucas‘The clues for a life of earth honouring and sustainable living are hiding in plain view in the menstrual cycle. Most women have probably never consciously made a link between the two.’
‘...there is a connection between how women treat themselves and are treated by society, and how we treat the earth. That women, like the earth, are governed by cycles, and by paying great attention to our ever-changing bodies and beings and acting accordingly, we may just have a chance to re-awaken our true power.’
‘It’s a big message – it takes an angle that most of us have probably never considered. It places value in rest, rejuvenation, and in honouring the notion of the sacred and the intentional. It speaks of the importance of a great shift from a patriarchal society to a feminine one. There is such a similarity between how women’s menstrual cycles are treated and how the Earth is treated, and the same for childbirth and menopause. It’s well known that how a culture treats and values the feminine is how they treat and value the Earth.’
These golden wise words are from my friend, Jane Hardwicke Collings 🖤

isabellucasThank you to my beautiful friends @theseakin and Dave Rastavich for creating awareness about saving the Clarence River and its environment.
There is curently a new copper mine proposal underway for Cangai, directly adjacent to the Mann River, a main tributatary of the Clarence. As seen in 2018 with the Walsh River and Jamie Creed disaster, copper mining has an extremely dangerous history in Australia, and is a very serious threat to the ecological health of this pristine region and entire little community community.
If we can gather enough people (minimum 10,000) to object by signing the petition it will be taken to parliament to ask the legislative council to stop exploration or mining within the Clarence Valley and surrounding area.

isabellucas“Angst about the body robs a woman in some large share of her creative life and her attention to other things.
This encouragement to begin carving her body is remarkably similar to the carving burning peeling back layers of the flesh of the earth itself.
Where there is a wound on the psyches and bodies of women, there is a corresponding wound on the culture itself and finally on nature herself.
Although a woman cannot stop the dissection of culture and lands overnight, she can stop doing so to her own body” - Clarissa Pinkola Estes

isabellucas@outlanddenim stands for fairness and commitment to people and the planet. All @outlanddenim materials are sustainably sourced and ethically made by people who are being paid fairly. These are people who were once shockingly exploited & are now are back at work.
Human trafficking affects an estimated 24.9 million men, women, and children around the world.
Women and girls made up the most trafficked victims and almost three-quarters of them are trafficked for sexual exploitation. 35% are trafficked for forced labour.
Who else would like to buy beautifully cut clothes produced by women (& men) who have been supported to transition out of the human trafficking industry?

isabellucasI’m very proud to collaborate with @outlanddenim — a brand with deep integrity, creating sustainably sourced and ethically made garments — by women (& men) who have been supported and fairly paid to transition out of the human trafficking industry.
The denim jean market is worth — $56 billion.
Human Trafficking? $150 billion.
Who else would prefer to buy beautiful clothes - produced sustainably & with a social conscience?? #OutlandDenim #HumanTrafficking 🖤 🖤 🖤

isabellucasAnyone out there who’s an actor, an artist or curious to become more creative… I recently started exploring a new creative method called P.E.M. and I’m finding it completely invigorating and transformative being immersed in this technique. I no longer feel any fear or hesitation bringing all of myself to the full expression of any emotion, it’s been a liberation on many levels.
Not only actors can benefit, this is a program anyone who feels called to learn more about self expression, emotional and personal development.
The method was founded by Stephan Perdekamp in Germany. I started with a 3 day workshop and was so inspired I chose to explore the 3 month program. I’m feeling humbled and so grateful for the endlessly unfolding creative path I’m on.
If you choose to explore #PEM, may you remain ever childlike in your willingness to learn, grow and discover... Check out the website, the next course begins October 4 at P.E.M. Studios Melbourne.

isabellucasI’ve been inspired by the many posts I’ve read in reaction to the devastating news of the Brazilian Amazon.
Did you know the Earths green lungs — the Amazon rainforest — accounts for more than 20% of the world’s oxygen alone? And 10% of ALL known species?
Home to 1 million Indigenous people and 3 million species — these forests have been burning for more than two weeks straight.
And there has been an increase of 84% fires from 2018-2019, and it is now visible from space. . .
What can we do to help? ✨Go to @EarthAlliance and donate what you can. Starting today an emergency resource fund was set up and 100% of donations will go directly to the Amazon. ✨Pick a charity from this list - https:// actforest.glideapp.io/ and donate what you can ✨Share what is going on with Amazonia with your networks. Encourage them to act and raise the issue. Use the hashtags below.
✨Find and sign petitions through Change.org or other webpages. I have signed Greenpeace's petition: https://act.greenpeace.org/page/39922/petition/1?locale=en-GB.
✨Reduce consumption of animal products - most of these fires were initially lit to illegally clear land for cattle farming (or even go vegan).
✨Support indigenous communities who are on the frontline (actually standing for all of us).
✨When election time comes, VOTE for leaders who understand the urgency of our climate crisis and are willing to take bold action—including strong governance and forward-thinking policy.
✨Become self educated on climate change.
✨Light a candle as a symbol for love, awareness and the energy of solutions.

France has pledged to close all its coal power stations by 2022! And plans to increase the amount of solar capacity by five times and wind by three times. Aussie, let’s take a leaf out of France’s book? ⭐️
isabellucasAbout two-thirds of Switzerland's electricity comes from renewable energy, mostly hydro. 💙
Australia is the sunniest country in the world with enough renewable energy resources to power the country 500 times over.
Do you also feel like clean, reliable, affordable solutions are here in the form of renewables and storage technology? And does Adani seem like a really old joke right now?
Come on Aus, let’s upgrade ⚡️⚡️

isabellucasI’ve been wondering, can holy angels or ascended masters live inside mountains?
Since I was young this mountain had a way of reaching and nourishing my soul like no other.
Perhaps it’s the crystal minerals under the earth, the wildflowers & blueberries and natural spring drinking wells. Or Mother Nature’s sentience. Who knows... Either way if you need a natural reset or adrenal tonic, I fully encourage climbing a mountain and falling asleep in the grass.

Did you know your skin is the largest organ of your body? And when you swim in healthy oceans you absorb many natural minerals and nutrients? Like sodium, magnesium, potassium and iodine.
We need to safeguard our oceans and maintain their health.
Has anyone heard about marine permaculture? I recently learnt the benefits of growing underwater kelp forests to sequester carbon from the atmosphere...
‘Between Australia and the United States, there’s 100 million square kilometers of ocean desert that is amendable to Marine permit culture’. - Dr. Brian von Herzen

isabellucasHey Melbourne, how you traveling today? 🚲 🚙 🚃 🐎 ⛵️ 🚎 🚀 🚊 🏄🏻♀️ 🚁🛸 💫
What’s your usual means of transport?
Did you know Melbournes’s entire tram system is now powered by 100% renewable energy from large scale solar plants in the north of Victoria?
Trams on Swanston Street carry more people to and from Melbourne each day than all the cars that travel along 10 lanes of the West Gate Bridge.
It’s not just Melbourne’s trams, either. The council’s street lights, libraries, gyms, childcare centres and council buildings are also 100% clean and green! 💚
So awesome to see local and state governments stepping up to the climate challenge!
Now we need to tackle the rest of our transport system which is still stuck in the slow lane.
Please go to the link to find out more from the cutting edge scientists and trustworthy team at @theclimatecouncil, https://climc.nl/transport
isabellucasIn ode to this lunar eclipse and full moon in Capricorn 🐺💫🌕✨
In year 2000 the native American Hopi elders were asked for a prophecy for this time we are in.
A pearl of wisdom, symbolic advice, for how to live beautifully in these changing times & this is how it goes ~ ‘there is a river
flowing now very fast
it is so great and swift
that there are those who will be afraid
who will try to hold onto the shore
they are being torn apart and will suffer greatly
know that the river has its destination
the elders say we must let go of the shore
push off into the middle of the river
and keep our heads above water
and I say see who is there with you and celebrate
at this time in history we are to take nothing personally least of all ourselves
for the moment we do our spiritual growth and journey come to a halt
the time of the Lonewolf is over
banish the word struggle from your attitude and vocabulary
all that we do now must be done in a sacred matter
and in celebration
for we are the ones we have been waiting for’
By Thomas Banyacya Sr. Speaker of the Wolf, Fox and Coyote Clan Elder of the #HopiNation
isabellucasI was chatting with a friend about what the most powerful action is to assisting the bigger picture, our planet now.
To affect the macro (big picture) we need to start with the micro (small picture). We distilled it down to a simple moment-by-moment choice of 'choosing love and recreation over defense and fear'. I believe, raising the global consciousness - the opening of the heart - Is of most benefit now. From the open hearted state, we are in connection with everything. From this state, we would choose a regenerative world over a degenerative world.
Rage, grief, fear MUST all be included, felt and expressed. But this is not the place we envision and create from.
We must dig deep into this valuable source of emotion and use it to channel it into recreating.
I feel this is the true work of the activist, being the change you want to see.
Thank you @kacie__tomita for the pic, style @lucywarrenstyle, florals @love__art__life
