rachelbrosnahanNight of Covenant House Stars goes digital! Join us on Monday May 18 at 5pm PT/8pm ET in an evening of celebration of the resilient young people who call @covenant_house home. Featuring incredible performances from Broadway’s best, some wildly talented Covenant House residents + a few other familiar faces might make an appearance...streaming on Amazon, Facebook, YouTube and more.
rachelbrosnahanI’ve been trying not to spill the beans about this and can finally say...I can’t wait to (someday soon I hope!) get cracking on #TheSwitch with our fantastic team at @amblin, the brilliant Bekka Bowling & @betholearyauthor. Also, look mum! Finally get to use that British accent! 🇬🇧
rachelbrosnahanIn honor of my friends at @wptheater who have always built space to put #WomenToTheFront here are three (impossible to choose only 3!) women in theatre who I deeply admire and am so lucky to know.
1) my soul sister of nearly 12 years @rachsuss - human gemstone, producer extraordinaire and women’s history nerdling who is deeply committed to theatre as a means for social change.
2) the huge hearted, fiercely intelligent, relentlessly hard working @silverleigh - beautiful director and passionate advocate for women both on and off stage.
3) my bold and brilliant friend @shakeenz - mover, shaker, theatre maker, game changer. I am ceaselessly inspired by watching this woman carve out space for herself and others to share their stories with the world.
I nominate @marshastephanieblake, @nikkima1776 & @davidoyelowo to join me in putting #WomenToTheFront.
rachelbrosnahanToday would have been Ahmaud Arbery’s 26th birthday and instead of celebrating another lap around the sun, his family and friends are grieving. I hope we are finally on a path to justice. For him. For them.

“People of color in the United States, particularly young black men, are often assumed to be guilty and dangerous. In too many situations, black men are considered offenders incapable of being victims themselves. As a consequence of this country’s failure to address effectively its legacy of racial inequality, this presumption of guilt and the history that created it have significantly shaped every institution in American society, especially our criminal justice system.”
– Bryan Stevenson
rachelbrosnahanfor their extraordinarily generous support of @covenant_house, particularly during this time when the need is so great. Thank you both for your commitment to helping young people find home at Covenant House while they work towards their brightest futures!

New York is such a beloved city to @justinverlander and me, and as most know it has been experiencing some of the most devastating spreads of this virus. We connected with Covenant House New York, and they are overcoming extreme obstacles to continue to provide shelter, food and resources for youth experiencing homelessness.
Currently, at @covenanthouseny they are caring for 10 children who have tested positive, while 30 staff members are in recovery as well. Overall demand of the 24/7 needed care has drastically increased and they are doing an incredible job responding during this crisis by implementing safety precautions and new programs with a special emphasis on mental health.
We are so grateful to be able to donate and support their mission. Also we are extremely grateful to @bellacanvas who, for the second week in a row, has generously donated by sending 25,000 masks to Covenant House New York.
Also, @covenant_house is an international organization operating in 31 cities throughout six countries. Thank you sincerely to Hannah and Cal McNair (@HannahMcNair11) who have joined us and are donating to @covenanthousetx which is located in Houston.
We’ve included more information about Covenant House in our stories. Thank you to all who pulled together to help make an impact in both New York and Houston. Please stay safe and to all those working to help and heal our communities, thank you for all you do! #covid19 #newyork #houston #covenanthouse #bellacanvas
rachelbrosnahanAnother little @maiseltv BTS from Episode 5. This is a piece of a rehearsal for Lenny & Midge’s date at the Cuban club...had to cut short before the camera came around on us 😬. Shout out to our incredible crew who bust butt every day to bring our show to life. They dance with the camera, make us sound and look good, design & build gorgeous sets, wrangle actors, assist the director, move heavy equipment, keep us on schedule, feed and hydrate everyone & so much more. There is no show without them. I can’t wait until we can safely get the gang back together again. Link in my bio to help support our crews through these tough times that have so many out of work.
rachelbrosnahanCheers to your 34th lap around the sun @rasonjalph! Times are strange but I’m so grateful for friends near and far, even (especially?) when they’re in my computer. Love each other hard in whatever way you can. 💛
rachelbrosnahanI can’t squeeze all of you so my quarantine hair and I are squeezing the floof instead...in 24 hours you have contributed nearly $6500 (!!!) to support young people overcoming homelessness at @covenant_house who are some of our most vulnerable community members right now. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Let’s keep this going! 💙Link In Bio💙
rachelbrosnahanThis year marks the 8th consecutive year that my best gal @rachsuss & I will #SleepOut alongside members of the stage and screen community in support of young people overcoming homelessness at @covenant_house.
We’re hopeful that we’ll still be able to hold our annual event this August, but are beginning fundraising early this year because of the devastating impact that Covid 19 has had on Covenant Houses across all 31 cities and 6 countries.
I spoke recently with President Kevin Ryan about how Covenant House has been weathering this challenging time and he shared a devastating statistic. Out of 112 CovNYC residents who had full or part time jobs, only 11 remain employed today. This is crushing for the young people who have worked so hard for that stability.
What Covenant House residents and staff need most right now is increased support. We can help ensure they have the additional food supply they need to feed residents who are being encouraged to stay inside, PPE for their medical center staff, resources to repurpose rooms and floors into isolation units for residents exhibiting symptoms and many other vital services.
I know that times are tough for so many, but if you’re able to make a donation, please consider doing so at the ✨Link In Bio✨ Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
rachelbrosnahanso here’s one of my favorite BTS shots from Season 3. This is the opening shot from Episode 6 and took more than 6 hours to get picture perfect. It takes a huge village & ours is pretty dang marvelous. 🎀
rachelbrosnahan“We stay here for you, please stay home for us!”
One of the reasons I wanted to share pictures and stories from our #HealthcareHeroes was to help put faces and names to our heathcare workers on the frontlines, working every single day, with dwindling resources, to keep us all safe and healthy.
There’s a LOT of information swirling around out there right now and it can be overwhelming. In addition to experts and government officials, the unified message from our healthcare workers is to STAY HOME if you’re able to. Not only for your own safety and the safety of those most vulnerable in our communities, but for the safety of our healthcare workers and to #FlattenTheCurve before our hospitals become overwhelmed and we don’t have the resources to care for every person who becomes sick.
Fellow young folks, I’m especially looking at you! Not only are we *not* invincible here, but we can be silent carriers and unknowingly spread this #coronavirus. If you won’t stay home for you...stay home for your parents, your grandparents, your mentors, your elderly neighbors, your immunocompromised family and friends, and for those who can’t. It’s past time for us to step up and do our part.
Sending love and light to all of you during these uncertain times. 💙
rachelbrosnahanHello from our socially distanced selves! Hopefully by now we’re all washing our hands often & well and practicing social distancing/self isolation (puppers excluded) if we’re able to. BUT there are many folks, across industries and across the globe, who can’t stay home during this time of great uncertainty.
I want to take a moment to shout out and say a massive thank you to our #HealthcareHeroes all over the world. Thank you to our doctors, nurses, front desk staff, janitorial staff, pharmacy workers, caretakers, therapists, EMTs, paramedics and so many more who are out there on the frontlines working to keep us safe and healthy.
If you or someone you know are #HealthcareHeroes please share your stories using the hashtag so we can make our gratitude heard far and wide. I’ll be reposting in stories so keep your 👀 peeled! 🖤
